Adnan Ismail, general secretary of the Socialist Unionist Party of Syria, said this in a statement on Dec. 15.

He noted that progressive mankind together with the friendly Korean people is recollecting the brilliant career of Kim Jong Il in the noblest reverence.

The sudden demise of Kim Jong Il was the saddest and bitterest grief and the greatest loss which could not be compensated with anything, he said, and went on:

He led to victory the Korean people in their struggle for the prosperity of the country while meeting all challenges of the imperialists, true to the idea and cause of the great President Kim Il Sung, father of socialist Korea.

It is the truth of history that the cause of a great man can be successfully carried forward only by a great successor.

The idea and cause of Kim Jong Il will be successfully accomplished by Kim Jong Un.
