Pyongyang, December 23 (KCNA) -- The Brazilian Centre for Peace and Solidarity with Peoples made public a statement on Dec. 15 in denunciation of the U.S. anti-DPRK "human rights" offensive. Castigating the UN "resolution on human rights" against the DPRK, the statement went on: The railroading of the "resolution on human rights" through the UN was a political fraud made by the U.S. for the purpose of intensifying the smear campaign against the DPRK by setting in motion some EU countries and Japan. That was why many independent countries opposed the "resolution". The "resolution" is peppered with false stories. This is a grave insult to the DPRK. The "resolution" does not reflect at all the fact that the U.S. has barred the DPRK from having economic exchange with foreign countries and blockaded it militarily and economically for over six decades. Owing to the U.S. blockade the DPRK has suffered difficulties in production, consumption and overall social life. The U.S. is tightening the blockade against those countries that do not follow it, spreading the lie that the people are maltreated in the countries. The U.S. and its followers have no moral qualifications to talk about human rights of other countries. Their criminal acts in Middle East, Africa and Asia clearly show their hypocritical nature. Their purpose is to paint the DPRK as the one like those countries where humanitarianism disappeared under the pretext of "humanitarian interference". We sincerely hope that the DPRK would make steady social progress and development for its people. We again extend our firm support to the Korean people in their just cause for defending the right to self-determination and sovereignty and achieving the country's reunification. |
