Tokyo, December 22 (KNS-KCNA) -- Members of the Kumgang-san Opera Troupe under the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) held a meeting for remembering leader Kim Jong Il on Dec. 18 on the occasion of the third anniversary of his demise. It was attended by Han Tong Song, director of the Department for Publicity and Culture of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, Kim Sang Il, member of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, Kim Jong Su, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Korean Writers and Artists in Japan, and members of the opera troupe. The participants paid silent tribute to Kim Jong Il. Speakers recollected with deep emotion the loving care shown by him for the troupe. The proud course of development covered by the troupe along with Chongryon would be unthinkable apart from his wise leadership and warm care, they noted. They praised Marshal Kim Jong Un for carrying forward the loving care of Kim Jong Il. They underlined the need for all members of the troupe to be well aware of their mission as those of a Juche-based overseas compatriots' art organization and make redoubled efforts to arouse patriotism and preserve national identity among the compatriots and develop national culture and arts. Such numbers as "Song of Comradeship" were put on the stage at the meeting. |
