Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- The Russian newspaper Tribuna on Dec. 18 carried a special write-up illustrated with photos of leader Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the third anniversary his demise. The paper carried an article titled "Legacy of leader Kim Jong Il" which said: What type of man leader Kim Jong Il was for Korea? The Korean people unreservedly revere and praise him as the great leader. What is the outstanding exploits he performed for the development of the country? The U.S. and its allies have disliked the DPRK since its birth and tried to stifle it by force of arms. But they failed to bring the DPRK to its knees. Since the end of the 1990s the U.S. has been making preparations for a fierce war against the DPRK. This situation compelled the DPRK to maintain its defence capability at a high level and make a great decision to develop its own nuclear weapons and delivery means. Kim Jong Il neither allowed the sovereignty of the country to be infringed upon in diplomacy nor made any compromise to the U.S. He made the greatest contributions to the work for Korea's reunification. The DPRK has steadily developed the fields of economy and science including industry, agriculture and science despite outside blockade. Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, greeted a heyday of prosperity in construction, turning it into a modern city based on Juche-oriented architecture. |
