Pyongyang, December 30 (KCNA) -- Civic and public organizations in south Korea staged actions in Seoul, Pusan, Kwangju and other parts of south Korea on Dec. 27 in protest against the puppet authorities' disbandment of the Unified Progressive Party (UPP), according to Yonhap News of south Korea. The Solidarity for Progress and other organizations held a rally at the plaza of Seoul Railway Station at which they said it would seek the retraction of the worst decision in history on the UPP. It is a plot that the Park Geun Hye regime and the "constitutional court" cited the "violent revolution" and "building of socialism" as the reason why they disbanded the political party, it charged. At the end of the rally the participants marched as far as Chonggye plaza, holding slogan boards reading "death sentence to democracy" and "end to Park Geun Hye's dictatorship". A rally took place in Pusan, too, under the sponsorship of the Pusan People's Solidarity to denounce the puppet group's moves for eliminating the progressive political party. Organizations in Kwangju and South Jolla Province held a rally in Tonggu, Kwangju City and condemned the decision on disbanding the UPP as an act of violating democracy. Rallies were also held in Jonju, North Jolla Province and Chunchon and Wonju, south Korean Kangwon Province. |
