Rodong Sinmun Urges S. Korean Regime to Roll Back Anachronistic Confrontation Policy

Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- The south Korean regime must roll back its anachronistic confrontation policy, says Rodong Sinmun in an article on Wednesday. It continues: Seeking the improvement of the north-south relations by the concerted efforts of the Korean nation is the principled stand which the DPRK has consistently adhered to. This year, too, the DPRK has taken practical actions based on the stand with the firm will to improve the inter-Korean ties. However, the north-south ties are still catastrophic at the end of the year. This is because the south Korean regime has remained unchanged in its hostile concept of the DPRK and policy for escalating confrontation with it. In short, the south Korean regime's attitude towards the DPRK is to lead it to "change" and reunify social systems in the north and the south by intensifying the offensive campaign against the DPRK in conspiracy with foreign forces over the nuclear issue, "human rights", etc. All the fellow countrymen, reviewing the year, have become to clearly realize once again that it is the south Korean puppet regime that has driven the inter-Korean ties to the worst phase. It is very self-evident that it is impossible to expect dialogue and peace as the regime has been getting all the more reckless in its anti-DPRK moves. If it continues resorting to the confrontation with the backing of foreign forces, it can never escape bitter defeat and shameful self-destruction. |
