S. Korean Regime Accused of Suppressing Freedom of Speech

Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- The Association for Supporting Prisoners of Conscience of the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy in south Korea made public a statement on Dec. 25 in denunciation of the puppet group's gag on the progressive media, according to south Korean internet paper Jaju Minbo.

The statement accused the Seoul High Court of deciding on closing the paper.

The court took such unreasonable action on charges that the paper seriously and repeatedly violated its inaugural objective, the statement said.

The decision to close the paper was made as part of the campaign to suppress the pro-reunification movement organizations including the forcible disbandment of the Unified Progressive Party, it added.
