Kim Jong Un Visits Pyongyang Baby Home and Orphanage on New Year's Day

Pyongyang, January 2 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, visited the Pyongyang Baby Home and Orphanage on January 1 to give new year blessings to the children. Beloved children offered new year greetings to him, presenting bouquets to him. He said he came to the baby home and orphanage right after finishing his New Year address to meet the children there on the New Year's Day as he had promised to do so during his visit to the newly built baby home and orphanage in October last year. He went round various places including the dining rooms, child-care rooms, education rooms, sleeping rooms, wading pools and rooms for intellectual games to see how the children spent the New Year's Day. He was greatly satisfied to see highly nutritive and special food on the tables for children. His face beaming with a broad smile, he said he was very pleased to see the children having a pleasant time on the New Year's Day. Noting that all the facilities at the Pyongyang Baby Home and Orphanage fully reflect the advantages of the socialist system of the country, he underlined the need for the officials and employees there to fulfill their responsibility to make sure that the children feel the party's warm love for the younger generation and future. Calling for bringing up the children in such a manner that they may nurture good moral traits, creativity and independence so that service personnel of the People's Army, doctors and heroes may be produced from among them, he said to do so, all the nurses and teachers should have good qualities as educators as well as motherly warm love. He enjoyed an art performance given by children and had a photo taken with them. Saying that the whole country will become bright only when happy laughter of the children is heard, he added that the laughter of the children, their song "We Are the Happiest in the World" will ring out louder on this land making the revolution. Asking again the officials, nurses, teachers and employees of the baby home and orphanage to successfully bring up the children as their real mothers would do, he had a photo session with them. He was accompanied by Han Kwang Sang, department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, Ri Jae Il, first vice department director of the C.C., the WPK, and Kim Yo Jong, vice department director of the C.C., the WPK. |
