The Socialist Party of Benin in its statement said that it is an unprecedented fascist violation that the south Korean authorities prodded the "constitutional court" into forcibly disbanding the UPP, legal political party.

It went on:

The reality is that freedom of activities is provided to political parties in any countries, and that progressive political parties are legally acting in capitalist countries, too.

But only in south Korea the political party was branded as a criminal one and forcibly dissolved under suppression.

Branding the south Korean authorities' high-handed and outrageous brutality as an unpardonable challenge to democracy and human rights and a fascist violation of the south Korean people hoping for independence, democracy and reunification, the Socialist Party of Benin severely denounces them.

We categorically reject the south Korean authorities' disbandment of the UPP and call on the world progressive political parties valuing democracy and justice to raise voices of denouncing it.

The Benin-Korea Amicable Association "Long Live Kim Jong Il, Supreme Leader" and the Benin National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea in a joint statement said:

The south Korean authorities recently decided the disbandment of UPP by using the "constitutional court" as they regarded the party as a thorn in their flesh.

South Korea is just the place where arbitrary practices of disbanding political parties and organizations, that are being out of favor, are enforced without any hesitation by dint of power.

We strongly denounce the disbandment, considering it was prompted by the scheme to wipe out the progressive political parties standing in the van of the righteous struggle, and furthermore split and weaken the whole progressive forces.
