Bangladeshi Political Parties Condemn S. Korean Authorities' Politically-motivated Terrorism

Pyongyang, January 5 (KCNA) -- Progressive political parties in Bangladesh vehemently condemn in the name of world progressive people loving justice and truth the south Korean authorities for forcibly disbanding the Unified Progressive Party (UPP), regarding it as the hideous politically-motivated terrorist act of violating democracy and human rights.

The Bangladesh Communist Party, the Socialist Party of Bangladesh and the Bangladesh People's League said this in a joint statement on Dec. 27 last year.

The statement said:

The south Korean authorities forcibly disbanded the UPP that was founded thanks to the will of the south Korean people aspiring after independence, democracy and national reunification and had conducted its activities as a legitimate political party.

UPP was a political party that had defended the interests of the south Korean popular masses including workers and peasants and enjoyed full support from them.

The program of UPP reflects the will and demands of the broad sections of people in south Korea.

Disbandment of the UPP is an act of denying justice and stamping out the interests and will of the popular masses.
