To defuse the danger of war and ease the tension on the Korean peninsula and create peaceful environment are prerequisite to opening up a broad avenue to independent reunification.

The north and the south should refrain from seeking confrontation of systems while absolutizing their own ideologies and systems but achieve great national unity true to the principle of By Our Nation Itself to satisfactorily resolve the reunification issue in conformity with the common interests of the nation.

If they try to force their ideologies and systems upon each other, they will never settle the national reunification issue in a peaceful way, only bringing confrontation and war.

The DPRK remains unchanged in its stand to improve the inter-Korean relations through dialogue and negotiations and achieve independent reunification, peace and prosperity by the concerted efforts of the Koreans.

All Koreans in the north, south and abroad should turn out as one in the nationwide movement for national reunification in hearty response to the patriotic call of Kim Jong Un, true to the last instructions of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and thus bring about a great turn in opening a broad avenue for independent reunification without fail this year.
