Kim Jong Il's Songun Revolutionary Leadership Feats Lauded by British Body

| Pyongyang, January 8 (KCNA) -- The Korean Friendship Association UK released a statement on Dec. 22 last year on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's assumption of the supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army (KPA). The statement said: Kim Jong Il assumed the supreme commandership of the KPA on Dec. 24, 1991 and had since successfully carried forward the Juche-oriented cause of building the army started by President Kim Il Sung. Thanks to Kim Jong Il's energetic Songun revolutionary leadership, the KPA developed into an army equipped with nuclear deterrent and the latest military hardware. He led a fierce showdown with the U.S. imperialists to victory, foiling the enemies' moves to unleash a new war and protecting peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and in the rest of the world. His undying feats in the army-building are being further glorified by KPA Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un. |
