Rodong Sinmun Urges S. Korea Not to Seek "Unification of Systems"
Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- The north and the south should refrain from seeking confrontation of systems and "unification of systems" while absolutizing their own ideologies and systems in order to satisfactorily resolve the reunification issue in conformity with the common interests of the nation, says Rodong Sinmun Saturday in an article.

The article goes on:

Seeking confrontation of systems and "unification of systems" is the revelation of deep-rooted hostility and evil repugnancy toward the ideology and system of the north and sinister intention to stifle the north. It is the hotbed of the evil cycle of distrust and conflict between the north and the south and it may ignite a war in the end.

The south Korean authorities have long sought confrontation of systems and "unification of systems". They are aimed at bringing down the system of the north after labeling its fellow countrymen "enemy".

The danger of the moves for confrontation of systems and "unification of systems" lies in that it opens up the way for outside forces to perpetrate interference and aggression and it is the deplorable traitorous act of selling out the interests of the nation.

If the north and the south share one purpose and join efforts, they are able to achieve reunification by federal formula, not "unification of systems".

The DPRK resolutely rejects all the attempts to justify "unification of systems" while introducing "experience" of other country.

The north and the south have a great programme for reunification common to the nation as it is most suitable to the actual conditions of Korea and fully confirms with the demand of the whole nation.

The DPRK will readily join hands with the south Korean authorities for independent and peaceful reunification of the country if they drop their conception of confrontation of systems and truly respect the ideology and system of the north and choose the way of co-existence and co-prosperity.
