Korean Women Help Various Fields of National Economy

Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- Officials and members of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea helped workers and farmers. The art squad of the Central Committee of the women's union and members of its itinerant art squads across the country went to the Kim Jong Suk Pyongyang Textile Mill, the Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex, the Hamnam Area Coal Mining Complex and other units and encouraged the workers there by conducting agitation activities for increased production and broadcasting. Organizations of the women's union are sincerely helping the countryside. For the first three days of the new year they sent lots of farming materials including hundreds of thousands tons of composts to the farms which are associated with the leadership exploits of the peerless great persons. Officials of the women's union in Jagang, South Phyongan and South Hwanghae provinces, Kim Chaek City and Kangso District took the lead in aiding farmers. Decades of women in the township of Sonchon County, North Phyongan Province volunteered to work at the industrial factory in the county. Members of the women's union of Sariwon and Wonsan cities and Hochon and Kujang counties dynamically conducted frontline-style agitation activities at coal mines and power stations and handed lots of working tools and other materials over to the workers there. |
