S. Korean Organization Urges Authorities to Turn out to Mend North-South Relations

Pyongyang, January 12 (KCNA) -- The Taejon Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration held a press conference at the building of the Taejon City Office on Jan. 7 at which it urged the south Korean authorities to turn out to mend the south-north relations, according to the south Korean internet newspaper Thongil News.

Speakers held at the press conference that dialogue should be preceded to mend the south-north relations and it is important to briskly conduct diverse exchange and cooperation. Through them peaceful reunification on the Korean peninsula should be achieved without fail, they said, adding:

The U.S. sanctions against the north are obstructing the improvement of the south-north relations.

The present "government" should not be bound to the U.S. but exert efforts for repairing the relations with the north.

The speakers demanded the authorities stop the unreasonable campaign for eliminating "followers of the north" and lift the "May 24 steps".
