The article said leader Kim Jong Il authored works to give lucid answers to the principled matters arising in the party work and to strategic issues for the struggle for global independence against imperialism, thus foiling the imperialists' vicious moves to stifle the DPRK and winning a shining victory in the drive for defending socialism.

The article said thanks to his Songun politics, the DPRK won victory after victory in the stand-off with the U.S. and established diplomatic ties with those countries that had been hostile toward it. The article added that the DPRK has demonstrated its dignity as a military power that had access to a powerful nuclear deterrence despite the imperialist allied forces' moves to stifle it.

Saying that in order to reunify Korea he provided the north-south summits and opened up a wide avenue to national reconciliation and cooperation, the article stressed that all these achievements are a fruition of his wise guidance.
