Garib Newaz, president of the Bangladesh People's League, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to organize meetings, seminars, film shows and other political and cultural events for praising the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il at political parties, social bodies and friendship and solidarity organizations and groups for the study of the Juche idea in Bangladesh.
