The Headquarters of the Movement for Reunified Korean Nation published a declaration in Seoul on Jan. 7 demanding the lifting of the "May 24 step".

The present chief executive is talking about "unification" but this is impossible if the "May 24 step" is not lifted, the declaration said.

To lift the step is an immediate task for improving the south-north relations, it noted.

Organizations for south-north economic cooperation and civic, religious and public organizations held a press conference at the Kwanghwamun plaza in Seoul on Jan. 13 at which they demanded the lifting of the "May 24 step". They said that if the chief executive truly wants unification, she should show her will in practice.

They declared that they would stage actions demanding the lifting of "May 24 step" and resumption of tour of Mt. Kumgang, etc.
