Pyongyang, January 20 (KCNA) -- Servicepersons of the Korean People's Army (KPA) started for the revolutionary battle site on Mt. Madu on Tuesday. The revolutionary battle site, built as a secret base in Anju area during the anti-Japanese armed struggle, played the role of a regional leading base and important military operational base in the western part of Korea. The site is associated with the exploits of President Kim Il Sung for the historic cause of Korea's liberation. It is to be visited by the exemplary servicepersons of the KPA, cadets and students selected from the military schools at all levels and revolutionary schools. Before their leaving, they gathered in front of the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il erected at the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces. They laid a floral basket and bunches of flowers before the statues and paid tribute to them. Om Hyang Chol, chairman of the KPA Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, made a report to be followed by speeches. With the flags bearing the immortal beaming images of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il fluttering in the van of their march, they marched for the revolutionary battle site, holding the flag on which the letters saying "Never abandon revolutionary faith though one may die" were written. |
