End to History of National Division Called for in S. Korea

Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- The Ansan Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration held a meeting on Jan. 15, at which it called for putting an end to the history of national division, according to the south Korean internet newspaper Thongil News.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation and national division, the secretary general of the organization said, and went on:

Citizens of Ansan have staged a brisk movement for reunification with the desire for reunification.

Now is the time to make efforts to terminate the tragedy of division. The Korean nation should put under control the present situation where the south-north relations are now at catastrophe.

He said that the organization would positively wage the movement for reunification this year marking the 10th anniversary of its founding.
