Leader Kim Jong Il saw to it that Pyongyang University of Education No. 1 was renamed Kim Hyong Jik University of Education in January, Juche 64 (1975).

Over the past four decades the university has made lots of achievements as a teacher training center and a pedigree base for education of the younger generation under the loving care of the peerless great men.
