Kim Jong Il's Birth Anniversary to Be Celebrated in Russia

Pyongyang, January 25 (KCNA) -- A Karelia, Russia, preparatory committee for celebrating the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il (the Day of the Shining Star) was formed on January 20.

Viktor Yegorov, chairman of the Karelia-DPRK Friendship Association of Russia, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee set the celebration period from Jan. 20 to Feb. 20 and decided to hold a lecture meeting, seminar and other political and cultural events praising the undying exploits of Kim Jong Il during the period.
