The Uruguayan newspaper La Juventud and a Swedish magazine carried the part dealing with Korea's reunification from the address illustrated with his photo.

The British newspaper Workers' Weekly, the Pakistani newspaper Election Times, the Brazilian newspaper Hora do Povo and the internet homepage of the Brazilian committee for remembering leader Kim Jong Il also carried the part dealing with Korea's reunification from the New Year address.
