Kim Jong Il's Birth Anniversary to Be Celebrated in Serbia

Pyongyang, January 26 (KCNA) -- A Serbian preparatory committee for celebrating the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il (the Day of the Shining Star) was formed in Belgrade on January 19.

Batric Mijovic, general secretary of the New Yugoslav Communist Party of Serbia, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee set the celebration period from Jan. 20 to Feb. 16 and decided to give wide publicity to the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il and hold a meeting, seminar, lecture and other political and cultural events during the period.
