The statement fully supported the appeal adopted at a joint meeting of the government, political parties and organizations of the DPRK to carry out the part dealing with Korea's reunification advanced by Marshal Kim Jong Un in his New Year address.

It called upon all Koreans to turn out in the struggle to reject foreign forces and hew out the road of independent reunification in the idea of By Our Nation Itself.

Any Korean should clearly see through the reality, turn out in the efforts to create an atmosphere favorable for improving inter-Korean relations and resolutely check the moves of a handful of anti-reunification elements, it said, adding:

It is necessary to hold brisk dialogue and negotiations substantially conducive to mending inter-Korean relations and reunifying the country and write a new history of inter-Korean relations.

All Koreans should lift voices calling upon the political parties and organizations in the south to join the giant trend of history to bring about a fundamental change in the inter-Korean relations.
