The president said:

President Kim Il Sung provided the foundation for the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries. He was the great leader deeply revered by the Iranian people.

I support the independent and principled lines and policies set forth by respected leader HE Kim Jong Un in his New Year address for peace and stability on the Korean peninsula.

Iran hopes that the good relations between the two countries would continue to grow stronger in various fields including politics and economy.

The Iranian government resolutely opposes the U.S. pressure, sanctions, high-handedness and interference in domestic affairs of the DPRK.

We hope that peace and stability would settle on the Korean peninsula.
