Choe Yong Ho, vice-chairman of the Ryanggang Provincial People's Committee, told KCNA:

From the outset of the year, the province has channeled big efforts into making local industrial factories operate on a normal basis to produce more consumer goods, school things and foodstuff for its residents.

The Chongbong General Foodstuff Factory plans to build new processes for production of carbonated drinks and chips with blueberry, one of the province's specialties, and other wild fruits and potato as raw materials.

Technological renovation is underway at tens of local factories, including foodstuff factories in Kim Jong Suk and Kim Hyong Jik counties. And 400 hectares of land is under cultivation to supply raw materials to foodstuff factories.

Unhung County began repairing a filter-bed and Paekam County building a new hospital, while the provincial hospital is further developing the telemedicine system.

Meanwhile, the province is taking technical measures to plant 43.5 million trees this year.
