Officers of KPISF Make Study Tour of Battle Sites in Area of Mt. Paektu
Samjiyon, January 29 (KCNA) -- Commanding officers of the Korean People's Internal Security Forces (KPISF) made a study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu from Jan. 23 to 29.

They held a ceremony of starting it before the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Pochonbo in Hyesan City, Ryanggang Province on Jan. 23.

Prior to the ceremony, they placed a floral basket before President Kim Il Sung's statue of the monument and paid tribute to him.

At Pochonbo, they went round the Pochonbo Revolutionary Museum, the command post of the Battle of Pochonbo, the then post office, the then sub-county office, the then fire station, the then police post of the Japanese imperialists, etc.

That evening they held a bonfire gathering.

During their study tour they looked round the Spring Site in Poso-ri, the monument to teachings on the Tableland of Junghung, the Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site, Chongbong and Konchang Bivouacs, etc.

They went round leader Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp.

They looked round historic mementoes preserved in the house, the then Headquarters log cabin, the log cabin used by anti-Japanese guerrillas, the shallow well used by anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk and trees bearing revolutionary slogans written by her.

The marchers went round the Monument to the Victorious Battle in Musan Area.

They held a meeting to renew their pledge in front of the Samjiyon Grand Monument.

During the study tour they held diverse political and cultural events such as a meeting to hear impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas read by them and to recite poems, a contest in singing in chorus revolutionary songs while marching in array, and a question-and-answer study contest.

They handed aid materials to the farms busy with making full preparations for the year's farming and helped farmers while briskly conducting political work for them.
