The appeal said that the Korean nation is standing at the historical crossroads of independent reunification or permanent division, adding that this is a declaration that independent reunification means patriotism while permanent division means treachery.

It lashed out at the Chongwadae in south Korea for letting loose a whole string of pro-U.S. remarks contrary to the spirit of By Our Nation Itself.

It also accused the Chongwadae of patronizing human scum and a U.S. organization's anti-DPRK leaflet scattering operation, describing it as "freedom of expression".

All Koreans are greatly enraged by this behavior of the cowardly and wicked south Korean authorities, the statement noted. It called upon all Koreans to pool their efforts and advance along the road of independence.
