Expressing deep thanks for your message of warm congratulations and wishes on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, I extend sincere congratulations and warm greetings to you and, through you, to the Communist Party of Vietnam and the friendly Vietnamese people.

The traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and Vietnam provided by the great leader of our people Comrade Kim Il Sung and respected Comrade Ho Chi Minh of the Vietnamese people on the basis of the noble revolutionary sense of obligation and internationalism have steadily grown strong along the road of the common cause for socialism over the past 65 years.

Believing that the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties, two countries and two peoples will further expand and develop in conformity with the preceding leaders' intentions and wishes, I sincerely hope that the Vietnamese people will achieve bigger successes in their drive to build rich and powerful Vietnam true to the behests of President Ho Chi Minh under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by you.
