Speakers said that a new atmosphere was created to improve the south-north relations in this year marking the 70th anniversaries of national liberation and division but they are in the danger of going back to the phase of confrontation due to the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK.

They went on:

The U.S. is tightening sanctions against the north after groundlessly claiming that the hacking at the Sony Pictures Entertainment was done by it and hurled human scum into the operation for scattering leaflets against it.

Speakers also condemned the U.S. for clarifying its stand to stage joint military exercises together with south Korea, putting brake on the dialogue between the south and the north and the improvement of the inter-Korean relations

They demanded the U.S. halt, to begin with, military exercises for aggression against the north as the first step for confidence-building between the south and the north.
