They included a meeting and seminar in Benin and round-table talks and film show in Germany.

Films shown included Korean films "Pyongyang Today" and "Fireworks of a Thriving Nation."

Ali Houdou, president of the Socialist Party of Benin, praised Kim Jong Il for leading the DPRK to victory, weathering all trials of history by dint of ideology. He added that Kim Jong Il turned the DPRK into an impregnable fortress.

Hessou Kohovi, chairman of the Benin National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, said it was an event to be specially recorded in the history of the human cause of independence that Kim Jong Il formulated the revolutionary idea of President Kim Il Sung as an integral system of idea, theory and method of Juche.

Michael Koth, chairman of the Anti-imperialist Forum of Germany, said Kim Jong Il performed great feats for the reunification of Korea and world peace and stability.

He expressed conviction that under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un the Korean people would fulfill the behests of Kim Jong Il and proudly build a thriving socialist nation and surely accomplish the historic cause of national reunification in the near future.
