The foundation of the party, a vanguard unit of the revolution, under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh enabled the Vietnamese people to advance with confidence along the road of building independent and prosperous society, while braving the repeated invasions by the imperialists, the paper says, and goes on:

The Workers' Party of Korea and people of the DPRK are rejoiced over the fact that the Vietnamese people are exerting strenuous efforts to build powerful and prosperous society as desired by Ho Chi Minh despite the undisguised moves of the imperialists and the reactionaries.

The friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties and the two peoples have long-standing history and tradition. Their roots are comradeship between President Kim Il Sung and President Ho Chi Minh. Based on this, the two peoples pooled intention and fought hand in hand in the stern and arduous road of struggle against the imperialist aggressor forces, common enemy of the two peoples.

Today the friendly relations between the DPRK and Vietnam have entered a new phase of development.

To develop these relations is in line with the interests of the two peoples. This is beneficial to advancing socialist construction in the two countries and ensuring peace and security in Asia and the world.

The people of the DPRK are convinced that the excellent traditions of solidarity and cooperation between the two parties and the two countries will invariably be carried forward thanks to the joint efforts.
