S. Koreans Call for Anti-"government" Actions
Pyongyang, February 3 (KCNA) -- At least 1 000 members of civic and social organizations in Seoul held a meeting in Seoul on Jan. 31 calling for actions against the "government", according to the south Korean internet paper Jaju Minbo.

At the meeting speakers termed the present situation crisis of democracy.

They deplored that people are hard to live as the present regime imposes heavier burden of taxes upon them while lessening the one of the rich.

The regime is suppressing those calling for peace and reunification by labeling them "followers of the north" and pushing the south-north relations to escalated confrontation, they said, adding:

We cannot overlook the present situation where the Unified Progressive Party was forcibly dissolved and the case of attempted rebellion cooked up.

Recalling the present executive chief was elected through rigging with most of "government" organs including the Intelligence Service involved, they called on the people from all walks of life to take to streets on the occasion of two years of her office to demand the regime step down.

They called for making the anti-"government" actions spill over to all parts of south Korea.

At the end of the meeting the participants staged a candlelight demonstration toward the Chonggye plaza.
