Historic 250-mile Journey for National Liberation Continues
Pyongyang, February 3 (KCNA) -- The historic 250-mile journey, made by President Kim Il Sung for national liberation 90 years ago, is still continued by schoolchildren in the DPRK.

Kim Il Sung crossed the River Amnok at the age of 13 on February 3, Juche 14 (1925), with a grim resolve not to return home before Korea had become independent. Keeping the resolve deep in his mind, he liberated the country from Japan's colonial rule through protracted anti-Japanese armed struggle.

The schoolchildren's expedition of the journey course in the country started in 1975 on the initiative of leader Kim Jong Il.

Since then, they have made expedition of the 250-mile journey every year, through which they grasp the revolutionary faith of the President and the principle that the independence and freedom of the country can be achieved only by dint of arms.

During the expedition, the schoolchildren harden their will to prepare themselves to be reliable successors to the revolution, true to the Songun (military-first) leadership of the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.
