School Youth and Children from Across Country Make Study Tour

Phophyong, February 3 (KCNA) -- The study tour by school youth and children from across the country along the course of the 250-mile journey for national liberation was successfully wound up. It was organized on the occasions of the 90th anniversary of the 250-mile journey for national liberation made by President Kim Il Sung and the 40th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's organizing of the march along the course. The members of the study tour group left Mangyongdae, Pyongyang on Jan. 22 and hastened their march along the course of the 250-mile journey for national liberation and arrived in Phophyong in Kim Hyong Jik County, Ryanggang Province on Feb. 3. Phophyong is the historic place from where the President crossed the River Amnok in his teens with a firm pledge not to return home unless Korea became independent. Upon arriving there, they held a meeting before the statue of Kim Il Sung in Phophyong. Present there were Choe Ryong Hae, secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, officials of the youth league and members of the tour group. They laid a floral basket and bouquets before his statue and paid tribute to him. A congratulatory message of the C.C., the WPK to the participants of the study tour was read out at the meeting. The message highly praised the participants of the study tour for having powerfully demonstrated the firm faith and will of the successors to dynamically make long journeys of the revolution under the leadership of the party. It expressed belief that the participants of the study tour and all other school youth and children of the country would fully exalt the honor of being true young vanguard and juvenile guards on the road of advancing straight along the road indicated by the Party Central Committee, flying the flags bearing the portraits of smiling Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il before the flag of the youth league and the flag of the children's union. Jon Yong Nam, chairman of the C.C., the youth league, made a report to be followed by speeches. A letter to Marshal Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting. |
