If they escalate the confrontation with compatriots behind the scene while paying lip service to dialogue, the north-south dialogue and negotiations can never be realized.

The DPRK has taken practical steps on its own initiative from the outset of last year to mend the inter-Korean relations with the will of patriotism in order to improve the deteriorated relations.

This being a hard reality, the south Korean authorities massively conducted anti-DPRK leaflet scattering operations in the area along the Military Demarcation Line just a few days after they reached an agreement with the DPRK. And they made desperate efforts to stage provocative joint military drills aimed at "occupying Pyongyang" in collusion with the U.S., mercilessly chilling the hard-won atmosphere of mending the relations.

The history and situation show that it is impossible to defuse the distrust and contradiction and mend the relations if they resort to escalating confrontation to meet a sinister intention while paying lip-service to dialogue and improvement of the relations.

All Koreans have made sincere efforts to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country with the noble will of patriotism, but the history of the north-south confrontation has lasted until now seven decades since national division, and the country has not yet been reunified. This is attributable to the double-dealing attitude and vicious action of treachery of the south Korean authorities.

They should seriously look back upon their past and reflect on their improper attitude at present that go against the will and interests of the nation, and make a responsible option.
