S. Korean Organization Calls for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration

| Pyongyang, February 4 (KCNA) -- The Academic Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration held a meeting in Seoul on Jan. 31 calling for implementing the north-south joint declaration, according to the south Korean internet paper Jaju Minbo. The organization issued a statement titled "Let us put an end to seven-decade long division through implementation of the June 15 declaration". The statement referred to the situation in which the June 15 joint declaration has not been implemented. The present regime has suppressed those who call for implementing the June 15 joint declaration and achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of the nation as the "forces following the north", it said. It is necessary to thoroughly implement the June 15 joint declaration in order to put an end to the seven-decade history of division, it noted. It demanded the regime lift the "May 24 steps" and opt for dialogue and exchange with the north. |
