Present there were leading officials of the party, state and army, vice-premiers, chief secretaries of provincial party committees, officials of working people's organizations, ministries, national institutions, armed forces organs and those in party and power organs and in the field of land and environmental protection and the units related to it in Pyongyang and local areas.

The meeting reviewed last year's work for land and environmental protection and discussed the issues to face-lift the appearance of the country's land as befitting that of a thriving socialist nation this year.

The reporter and speakers recalled that supreme leader Kim Jong Un clarified the orientation and ways for bringing about a turn in the work for reforestation, conservation of nature, protection of environment and city management.

They underscored the need for all provinces to arrange well exemplary greenhouses and generalize them at all tree nurseries in their cities and counties and thus successfully produce and supply saplings that are needed.

They called for arranging Pyongyang, provinces, cities and seats of counties, work sites and villages in a more civilized manner by the concerted efforts of service personnel and people and properly conduct the road construction and management.

They stressed the need to stage the work for securing water on a mass basis as well as concentrating forces on river improvement and thus effectively use water resources for agricultural production and economic development.

They called for pushing ahead with the work for further improving the ecological and living environment throughout the society and turning out in the work for protecting national heritage to preserve and further glorify the long history of the nation and its brilliant cultural tradition.

They called for decorating the great October festival with great successes by bringing about a revolutionary turn in the efforts for this year's general mobilization for land management.
