L. Shukolinikov, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Workers' Party of Belarus and chairman of the Permanent Standing Committee of the Belarus National Association of Friends of Korean People Named after Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The preparatory committee consists of representatives from the above-said party and association, the National Social Federation "For the Union and Union's Communist Party", the International Social Federation "For Motherland and Stalin" and the Social Association "For Democracy, Social Progress and Justice".

The preparatory committee decided to adopt a congratulatory message to Marshal Kim Jong Un and hold diverse events in Minsk on the Day of the Shining Star.
