Kim Il Sung, founder of the Songun idea and founder-builder of the Korean revolutionary armed forces, mounted the tribune of the military parade amid the enthusiastic cheers on Feb. 8, Juche 37 (1948) and declared the birth of the regular revolutionary armed forces.

The significant military parade marked a historic event which demonstrated before the whole world the inexhaustible strength and ever-victorious spirit of new Korea.
