Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- School youth and children in Pyongyang gathered at Kim Il Sung Square on Sunday to mark the birthday of the regular revolutionary armed forces of Korea. Ri Kwang Chol, vice-chairman of the Pyongyang City Committee of the youth league, said in his speech that President Kim Il Sung developed the Korean People's Revolutionary Army into the regular revolutionary armed forces, the Korean People's Army on Feb. 8, 1948. Thanks to this significant day, the DPRK could win one victory after another in the standoff with imperialism and U.S. and the struggle to defend socialism generation after generation, he added. School youth and children loudly sang in chorus the song "For My Only Motherland", holding aloft flags of the Republic that carry the soul of the revolutionary forerunners. Then followed the march. The columns marching past to the tune of songs including "Long Live Generalissimo Kim Il Sung," "We Will Defend General Kim Jong Un at the Cost of Our Lives," "Revolutionary Armed Forces Upholds Leadership of Marshal Only" and "Leader, Just Give Us Your Order" reflected the strong will of young people to successfully carry forward the victorious traditions of the Korean People's Army that inherited the brilliant traditions of the anti-Japanese guerrillas. |
