The district office authorities threatened to forcibly evacuate the hall by labeling its use as illegal under an unreasonable pretext.

Defying the residents' protest, the authorities kicked up a reckless racket for evacuating the hall on Feb. 6 with at least 400 staff members of the district office and more than 100 gangsters of the evacuation group involved.

Those involved in the evacuation resorted to violence against the protesters. Hundreds of policemen encircled the scene of evacuation, threatening the residents.

The reckless violence left residents wounded. This was reminiscent of the Ryongsan disaster six year ago.
