Dag Norum, chairman of the Ostfold County Committee of the Communist Party of Norway, and Rita Berger, chief of the Ostfold Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, were elected co-chairpersons of the preparatory committee.

The preparatory committee decided to organize colorful political and cultural events praising the sacred revolutionary career and immortal feats of Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star.
