Pyongyang, February 13 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held at an agriculture and stock-farming enterprise in Cuba on February 5 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il (the Day of the Shining Star). It was cosponsored by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples and the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification. On display at the venue of the meeting were photos dealing with the immortal revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il and revolutionary activities of Marshal Kim Jong Un. Juan Jose Leon Vega, first vice-chairman of the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, said: The Korean people celebrate the birth anniversary of the great man as the Day of the Shining Star. Kim Jong Il was representative of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and he always found himself among soldiers of the heroic Korean People's Army and people, glorified the idea and exploits of President Kim Il Sung and devoted his life to socialist construction and the independent and peaceful reunification of the country. He grew up receiving patriotic and revolutionary education from Comrade Kim Il Sung, who commanded the armed struggle against the colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists over Korea, and Comrade Kim Jong Suk. He got the knack of the military war method by the table for operational plans at the supreme command during the Korean War. He performed the great merits in glorifying the idea and exploits of the President generation after generation, strengthening the party as one of the leader and building Korean-style socialism while working at the Central Committee of the WPK. Today the Korean people are dynamically waging the struggle for achieving national reunification under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un. We will positively support the Korean people in their struggle for smashing the moves of the U.S., the south Korean puppet forces and other anti-reunification forces and reunifying the country. |
