Present there on invitation were Bushmin, vice-chairman of the Federation Council of Russia, Melinikov, first deputy speaker of the State Duma of Russia, and figures of the Federal Assembly, political parties, government, ministries, institutions and bodies.

On hand there were Kim Hyong Jun, DPRK ambassador to Russia, and staff members of his embassy.

The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the full-length picture of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

They looked round the photos documenting the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il and boundless reverence of all people for him.

Bushmin in his speech lauded Kim Jong Il for carrying forward the cause of the President and performing great exploits in developing the friendly relations between Russia and the DPRK.

He said that Marshal Kim Jong Un is carrying forward the tradition of the Russia-DPRK friendship.

He referred to the recent brisk high-ranking visits and contacts between the two countries.

He stressed that Russia is convinced that the development of the bilateral relations not only brings practical interests to the peoples of the two countries but also serves as an important factor in ensuring peace and security on the Korean peninsula and in Northeast Asia.
