Seen standing before the portrait of the smiling Generalissimo was a floral basket praying for his immortality.

Present at the meeting were Ho Jong Man, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), and other Chongryon officials, Koreans in Japan and teachers and students of Korean University.

Ho Jong Man said in a report that Kim Jong Il was born in Mt. Paektu during the anti-Japanese war and grew up, undergoing the hardships no one experienced. He dedicated himself, cherishing all his life the firm faith and iron will to make the Korean people the happiest one and the DPRK the best one, the reporter noted, and went on:

Kim Jong Il turned the DPRK into a world-class military power and a nuclear weapons state despite the moves of the U.S.-led international reactionary forces to isolate and stifle the DPRK, a socialist fortress. This is his immortal feats to go down in the national history.

He was the outstanding leader who steered the movement of Koreans in Japan to victory and boundlessly tender-hearted father who brought the happiness to Koreans in Japan and rosy future to their generations to come.

The reporter called upon all Koreans in Japan to dynamically advance, getting united single-mindedly, to glorify forever the revolutionary career of Kim Jong Il and the undying leadership feats he performed for the movement of Koreans in Japan and strengthen the patriotic movement of Chongryon as required by the glorious Kim Jong Un's era under his leadership.

A letter to Marshal Kim Jong Un was read out at the meeting.

Similar meetings took place at the Osaka, Hyogo, Kyoto, Aichi, Ibaragi, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Hokkaido, Okayama and other headquarters of Chongryon on the same day.

Concert "Eternal Song of Sun" was given by the Kumgang-san Opera Troupe of Chongryon and a photo exhibition of Chongryon was held on the same day.
