Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- A joint national meeting of the Korean Children's Union organizations took place at the Taekwon-Do Hall here on Monday, the 73rd birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il. Present there were representatives of KCU organizations in provinces, schoolchildren here and those entering the KCU. Present there on invitation were Choe Ryong Hae, Yang Hyong Sop and officials of the youth league, officials concerned, war veterans and persons of merit. Jon Yong Nam, chairman of the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, made a report. The reporter said Kim Jong Il was born in Mt. Paektu on February 16, Juche 31 (1942) as son of guerrillas, adding this was Korea's great fortune and a great auspicious event for the Korean nation as it opened up a rosy future of the revolutionary cause of Juche. Kim Jong Il, though he was so busy steering the drive for defending socialism and building a thriving nation, took warm care of the study and life of schoolchildren as their real mothers and fathers would do and showed all his loving care for them so that they might learn to their heart's content with nothing to desire more in the world and have ample knowledge, high morality and strong bodies, the reporter said, adding: Respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, who inherited the noble love of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il for the rising generation, personally made a congratulatory speech at a grand meeting of KCU members and had a photo taken with KCU delegates and made sure that a study tour of schoolchildren from across the country was held with splendor along the course of the 250-mile journey for national liberation this year. The reporter underscored the need for all KCU members to prepare themselves as dependable heirs to the Songun revolutionary cause under the leadership of Kim Jong Un. Then followed a new-member admission ceremony of the KCU. |
