Displayed at the venue of the event were photos showing his revolutionary career and exploits.

Exhibited there were books and photos introducing Songun Korea.

Participants watched the Korean film documenting successes achieved by the Korean people in the socialist construction.

Present at the event were personages and members of the communist parties, Juche idea study bodies and bodies for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people in the capital city and local areas.

Michael Chant, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Communist Party of Britain (Marxist－Leninist), said in his speech:

Not only the Korean people but also world revolutionaries struggling against exploitation and oppression and world peace-loving people always cherish the august name of Kim Jong Il in their minds.

It is because Kim Jong Il set a great example to be followed by all revolutionaries while leading the Korean revolution in the latter half of the 20th century and early in the 21st century crowded with stirring events.

Revolutionaries of the UK should profoundly study the immortal exploits Kim Jong Il performed for developing the party, state and armed forces of the DPRK and accomplishing the socialist cause of the world.

Andy Brooks, general secretary of the Central Committee of the New Communist Party of Britain, said:

Kim Jong Il authored famous works such as "Socialism Is a Science" late in the past century when the socialist cause was undergoing a temporary trial, instilling stronger conviction of victory and enthusiasm of struggle into the world revolutionaries.

As he led the DPRK, it could courageously meet all challenges of history.

A congratulatory message to Marshal Kim Jong Un was adopted at the event.
