Strongly condemning the Washington-backed military coup designed to overthrow the legitimate Venezuelan government, the message extended firm solidarity to the government and people of Venezuela in their efforts to defend the sovereignty, peace and stability of the country and improve the people's living standard.

Reiterating the DPRK's stand of supporting the just cause of the Venezuelan people, it wished the foreign minister good health and greater success in his work.
